Welcome to our school!  We are very happy to have you join our family of learners. I am excited to meet each one of you personally so that we can begin to build our partnership in support of your child.  At Bronx Leadership Academy II High School, there are also many others on our team of teachers, administrators, and support staff all which are all committed to your child's academic success.

 

Two of the biggest concerns parents have when their son/daughter start high school are whether they will be safe, and whether they will do well academically.  Both of these concerns are legitimate, and both are closely related.  But, your parental support is crucial in helping your child with these two issues.  The best way to ensure that your child becomes successful is by getting involved.

 

My job as a Parent Coordinator is to keep you informed of policies, programs and provide you with the support and resources available and help you resolve problems that you or your child may encounter in the school in order to help your son/daughter achieve their educational goals. In addition, the Parent Coordinator is an important point of contact for you the parent. During the school year I will give regular events around topics of concern such as financial aid, college fairs, job training and other adult education programs.

 

Communication between school and home is an essential element in any students success in school.  Parents should feel free to call or e-mail me at any time to discuss questions, concerns or interests.  I encourage you to join our Parents's Association, which every parent/guardian is automatically a member of.  Lets create a close partnership with only one goal in mind to make sure your son/daughter has all the assistance needed to succeed in high school.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to visit the school at any time.  Remember, Parents are a child's first teacher and learning begins at home are words that we frequently hear and these words are undoubtedly true. Parents play a crucial role in the educational success of their children.  We believe that parents have special skills that they bring to the school community. We look forward to working collaboratively with our parents.
